That's not saying much, as temps have been in the 70s and high-60s.
Thursday was 60 degrees and sunny, and it's expected to get even cooler come nightfall, with a frost advisory issued across most of New Jersey and parts of Greater Philadelphia (see below).
Temps could drop to 44 on Thursday night, Oct. 10. Friday, Oct. 11 won't be quite as chilly, with temperatures expected to reach just below 70 during the day, and around 55 at night, the NWS said.
Next week will be even chillier, with a high of 61 expected Monday, Oct. 14, Columbus Day.
AccuWeather explains that frost can speed up and increase fall colors in some areas, and also accelerate falling leaves where foliage is past its peak.
"Temperatures will generally be 6-12 degrees Fahrenheit below the historical average during the early and middle part of next week, compared to 3-6 degrees below average this week," AccuWeather says.
